Recently, one of the greatest science fiction space movies we have seen in the history of cinema has been released. An epic space adventure with a intricate plot and incredible performances by the main cast. I am, of course, referring to Dune: Part II. How could I be referring to Rebel Moon?

Zack Snyder‘s film for Netflix was one of the most successful on the platform last year… despite the narrative catastrophe it represented. With only 21% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, it was classified as one of the worst movies in the director’s career, and now there are only a few weeks left for its second part to be released, again on Netflix.

Six hours of Zack Snyder: dream or nightmare?

But, while we “wait” to see what happens with this second part of this low-budget Star Wars, Snyder is already preparing his specialty: the director’s cut. And it is that, once Rebel Moon (Part 2): The warrior who leaves marks is released, the filmmaker has up his sleeve a joint version with Rated R content (that is, explicit in every sense).

“I think it’s interesting because it lasts approximately one hour longer than the original cut, beyond skipping the PG-13. It’s worth watching the six hours straight,” Snyder explains in Whats on Netflix. And we haven’t had anything like this since the final cut of Justice League, and that still had a story with a minimum pass…

Either way, the final assembly of Rebel Moon will be available on Netflix next summer. It is not clear if it will succeed among its audience, but considering that there are still fans demanding DC to bring back the superhero universe that it ruined, it is clear that there is an audience for all kinds of movies.
